Holiday decorations and a nice snowfall a week ago. Happy holidays!!
These are from the end of summer, fall, and start of winter. They are all so great! Took forever to print out; even had to refill the paper.
To get my photos from the Game Boy Camera to my computer I use the Game Boy Interface software for the Gamecube's Game Boy Player. I run it using the Swiss homebrew launcher. I have the SD Media Launcher which came with an SD card adapter and an Action Replay disc to launch the software. Game Boy Interface allows taking screenshots which can be done in the Game Boy Camera album view to save photos to the SD card. Also Game Boy Interface is wayyyy better than the regular Game boy Player start up disc and is the best way to play Game Boy Color/Advance games on the TV (Super Game Boy 2 is the best way for Game Boy).
The Nintendo 64 Rumble Pak was released in 1997. I never had one back in the day for the N64 but now that I have one I'm really enjoying it. I'm surprised at the ammount of games compatible and the rumble is strong and works well. It takes two "AAA" batteries normally but I modded mine to get power from the controller instead. All you have to do is move a resistor. I did have trouble doing it, my soldering iron is not great. I did order a desoldering pump so next time hopefully it will be an easier and cleaner job.
The Sanyo RP 5115 FM/AM Radio was released in 1985. I really like the look of this radio and it still works well! The battery compartment had a lot of corrosion in it so I scrubbed it as much as I could to clean it and surprisingly it works on batteries. It also came with the AC adapter and works with that too.
From one to two weeks ago. There was a nice sunset at that lake.
Kyogensha ga Yoake wo Tsugeru. Bokutachi ga, Itsumademo Damatteiruto Omouna. (虚言者が夜明けを告げる。僕達が、いつまでも黙っていると思うな。) by Harukatomiyuki (ハルカトミユキ) was released on November 14, 2012. The title translates to "A Liar Announces The Daybreak. I Think We'll Remain Silent Forever.". The artist and mini-album are important to me and there are really beautiful and special songs in here. My favorite tracks are 1, 3, and 5.
Blip was released in 1977 by Tomy. It is a fully mechanical pong game. The game is powered by winding up the timer dial; batteries only power the red LED. The game has a 1 or 2 player mode and is pretty challenging; you have to be fast to push the correct button.
From the past two weeks. It's fall now and getting cold.
Guitar Hero: On Tour was released on June 22, 2008 for the Nintendo DS. It came with an attachment required to play the game. This game is pretty interesting and I think the accessory that plugs into the DS's Game Boy Advance slot is innovative. It's my first Guitar Hero game and i'm not very good at it but I think it's really fun; need a lot of practice though. I also have the themed Nintendo DS lite.
2,020 Knives by Ada Rook was released on May 31, 2020. I have the limited edition laser-etched cassette, it's very beautiful! My favorite tracks are Reverie, Black Cloud in the Sky?, 2,020 Knives, and September. A lot of powerful songs.
From the past couple weeks. The weather has been really nice.
These are a really nice collection of Game & Watch games for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color. They each contain a modern and classic version of each game. You get a star for every 200 points collected and the stars unlock more games and stuff in the gallery section. These games have really nice Super Game Boy compatibility with color graphics and borders based off the actual Game & Watch handheld.
Game & Watch Gallery was released on May 5, 1997 for the Game Boy.
Game & Watch Gallery 2 was released on November 20, 1998 for the Game Boy Color.
Game & Watch Gallery 3 was released on December 6, 1999 for the Game Boy Color.
From the past couple weeks.
Yamikawa IMRAD (やみかわIMRAD) is the first album by Zenbu Kimi no Sei da (ぜんぶ君のせいだ。) and released on January 27, 2016. They are my favorite idol group and their style is a mixure of genres like pop and rock; they sometimes add screaming vocals in songs which I enjoy. My favorite tracks are 1 and 10.
The Super Nintendo's Super Scope was released in 1992 for North America and Europe, and 1993 for Japan. I kinda like the NES Zapper more because the Super Scope is a little too large and sucks up 6 "AA" batteries. The Super Scope is wireless and more accurate though.
Super Scope 6 was a pack-in game with 2 games included (each with 3 modes). I played Blastris and didn't really like it. LazerBlazer was much better, you shot missles as they came across the screen, the screenshot shows my score.
Yoshi's Safari is mario's only first-person shooter game. It's really nice looking and fun, I beat 2 levels. In the screenshot level 1 is replaced by a gem meaning it is beaten. After collecting all 12 gems and beating Bowser the game is complete.
Battle Clash (Space Bazooka in Japan) is a mecha shooter. I guess i'm terrible at this one, could not beat the first enemy. I didn't like it.
Tsukiakari no Seini Shite (月明かりのせいにして) is aquarifa's 2nd mini album released on July 10, 2013. They are a three member Japanese rock band fronted by a female vocalist. I really like how the cover art is made up of a transparent circle lined up with the lyric booklit to make a moon. The moon themed CD art is awesome too! My favorite track is number 8, switch.
This is the Amscope M150C microscope. Every once in a while I use it for water samples to look for creatures moving around. I even have slides to put the samples on. It's a nice unit that works well!
It's impossible to get a photo of samples with my normal camera. The Game Boy Camera actually worked much better haha!
Using advanced image enhancements on my Game Boy, I found an interesting specimen in this photo.
From the past couple days, It's been nice warm weather.
This is YUI's 3rd single released on November 9, 2005. This is a really good song I will always love; makes me happy. The B-side is really peaceful and recommended too.
Track 3 is an acoustic version of the previous single and track 4 is an instrumental of LIFE. The instrumental keeps the backing vocals and is really nice to listen to since the instruments are great in the song.
All taken in the last few days! I'm happy with all of them!
Part of my 22 mile bike ride today!
The SwissMicros DM41L was released in 2015 and is a clone of the HP-41CX calculator released in 1979. It's really high quality with all metal construction and nice clicky keys. It's a very nice calculator with cool programming functions.
The Milton Bradley Comp IV came out in 1977. It's a really cool number guessing game where you guess the 3, 4, or 5 digit number generated by the device. It runs off a 9 volt battery and includes 10 LED's to tell you how close your guess is. You first press "R" to generate a number. Your first guess decides the number of digits and you press "E" to enter each guess. The first column "number" tells you how many numbers match and the second "sequence" tells you how many in the correct order. All the lights flash after a correct guess and you can press "E" to have another person try and "R" to generate another number.
From the 15th and today.
This is the Compaq LTE Elite 4/40CX Laptop from 1994. It runs Windows 3.1 and seems to still work fine! It starts up pretty fast and it still has the original hard drive. I really like the track ball built in the screen, the left and right mouse buttons are on the other side.
The floppy drive was not working so I opened it up and the belt was completely gone. I managed to get it fixed and the last picture shows files wrote and read from the drive. I have not been able to get other computers to read from the floppy though.
From the past couple days.
These are from the past few days, very warm out!
I love rain.
This is UVERworld's 13th single released on August 5, 2009. I have the limited edition that includes a DVD and alternate cover art. I really like the holographic cover. The three songs on it are average; I don't hate any of them.
It includes lyrics, website info, and a sticker. The DVD is only 4 minutes long and includes a clip of the band jumping together during live performances and music videos.
These are from the past few days. It was very nice out!
I had a Game Boy Color with a burnt screen and beat up shell so I replaced it with a new aftermarket atomic purple shell and backlit screen. The screen does look nice but I had to squeeze it in there so I'm not sure about the durability or longevity.
The left is the modded unit and the right is an original unmodded one.
Pokemon Pinball supports high score sharing and printing! The sharing is done with the infrared port.
I took these on the 4th and 5th.
This is the Singer IZEK 1500 Sewing Machine released around 2001. It's a really cool looking machine controlled by a Game Boy with a special cartridge. The machine has a Game Boy link cable attached to it and the cartridge has over 100 patterns, three fonts, and more on it.
I have the original teal Game Boy Color it came with and the operation software cartridge. The cartridge can work on a Game Boy or Game Boy Color and allows saving patterns, pattern combinations, custom patterns, and letters.
I selected this star pattern, this one does not have length or width adjustments but most do; after this screen data is sent to the machine and it's ready to sew. It works great and is a lot of fun!
Oh, and happy one year anniversary of this website!
These are from my bike ride yesterday, it was very nice out.
I took these on the 20th, I really like how the cherry blossom picture turned out!
the fuzz was released by Ellis on November 9, 2018. I have the vinyl record and my favorite songs are the drain and all this time. born again was released on April 3, 2020. I have the vinyl record and cassette; my favorite songs are Embarrassing and Saturn Return. I really like her and can't wait for future releases!
It was nice out, around 60°F.
This is a solid cassette recorder, I really like the look and feel of it. It needed a belt replacement and a little cleaning and its works perfectly. It even has a speaker on the back.
Pokemon Yellow was first released in 1998 for the Game Boy. It's an enhanced version of Pokemon Blue with Pikachu as the starter and a story more based on the anime. This game supports printing Pokedex entries with the Game Boy Printer. It's the first Pokemon game I've played but I don't have my original cartridge anymore. The previous owner of this cartridge is named Satoshi and has all the badges with a time of over 45 hours.
It was so cold out! Around 45°F, the wind was the worst part.
Brought my MVC-FD87 camera on the first bike ride I went on this year. It did ok but I like my MVC-FD91 much better!
This Walkman was released in 1986. It's really nice looking and I'm trying to fix it up. I cleaned the battery contacts and replaced both belts but the tape runs at like twice the speed. Turning the yellow pot near the moter does nothing so I'm afraid I won't be able to fix it.
Space Invaders was released in 1994 for the Game Boy. It's interesting because it is the only Game Boy game to include a full Super Nintendo game if played on a Super Game Boy.
I have it in my Super Game Boy 2 and you can choose to play the enhanced Game Boy game or a Super Nintendo version of it. It's a simple game but these extra features make it unique.
Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble (コロコロカービィ) was released in 2000 for the Game Boy Color. This is a special cartridge because it has built in accelerometers to move Kirby around in game. I've only played a little of it but it's unique and fun.
This is a 0-35% Brix Refractometer. This device measures Brix which is the sugar content of a liquid solution. 1 Brix is 1 gram of sucrose in 100 grams of solution. This is an old analog meter made in Poland. I've checked the accuracy of it with a couple sugar samples of different Brix and callibrated it with water and it works perfectly. It's really cool and could be useful comparing sugar content in different brands of juice or fruit.
Some samples I tested:
Water: 0.0 Brix; Apple Juice: 12.5 Brix; 7up: 11.0 Brix; Sweet Tea: 5.0 Brix
I'm cold.
I removed the main board out of my childhood Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP and put in into an clear purple aftermarket one. I love the look of this shell, it matches my atomic purple Game Boy Color! I also installed an IPS LCD screen into it. The screen looks really good and has ten levels of brightness including off to choose from. My orignal system was silver with a front lit screen.
